"P.H.A. News Bulletin"

Hello all,

After looking at the weather reports for this weekend, I am sad to say we are going to have to cancel our arena cleanup this weekend.  We will have to watch the weather and look for another date before the month is out.

In the newsletter it was reported that Dr Darling would be our guest speaker at our February 11th meeting.  I was just informed that he will be at our March 11th meeting as a guest speaker.  This will be right before the clinic he will be holding at our arena  on that Saturday.  He is willing to answer any questions members might have and talk with us about parasites currently effecting our equine companions.

You will find attached the proposed agenda for the February 11th meeting.  If you would like anything brought up at the meeting, please contact me by February 10th so I can add it to the agenda.

I still have not heard from some of you over assistance with the PHA committees.  We need to work at forming these up to sustain the activities of our club.  Please contact me with your interests.  I want to thank those who have contacted me with new ideas for PHA.  For those interested in participating in the Horse Festival Committee, their first meeting will be on February 10th at the Cozy Diner at 5:30pm, contact Chanter at 876-0882 for more information.

Lastly, I must remind everyone that your membership dues need to be paid for this year before March.  The combinations will be changed on March 1st along with our email roster that will be used to send out the newsletter and updates.  If this has slipped your mind, you may attend the February 11th meeting and provide Heidi or Scarlett with your membership application and dues. We look forward to your continued support of our wonderful organization.

Until next time,

Russ Mullins

Paradise Horsemen’s Association

We are a non profit organization offering many different types of horse activities.  Paradise Horsemen's Association (PHA) has continued to grow by offering many different types of shows, training clinics, and community events. Every year we hold our annual Horse Festival. This event is a popular, well-attended event with horsemen from surrounding areas bringing their horses to demonstrate different riding styles and different breeds of horses in the arena. Outside of the arena are game booths, pony rides, food, vendors, a raffle, and crafts. This event is PHA’s main fund-raiser for the entire year. For the community, PHA offers a basic horsemanship class every summer to educate those wishing to know more about horses. PHA also does a fund raiser every year, whether it is a sponsored trail ride or a fun day at our arena, for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

The California Gymkhana Association or CGA is holding benefit shows in our arena throughout the year, so if you are looking for a fast pace with a lot of different speed events come and see what these shows are all about! We also have “California State Horsemen’s Association” English/Western shows being planned for this summer. These showsinclude halter, English/western pleasure, and horsemanship. Everybody is welcome.
